It was a pleasure to photograph this lovely family in my Tullins studio. It had been a long time since their last family portrait was taken so it was definitely time to create new souvenirs for them.
When we photograph families, it’s important to photograph all the combinations – the children by themselves, together, with mum, with dad, the parents together and, of course, the all-important family portrait. It is the first time that some parents (or grandparents) have been photographed together since their wedding day.
In this family portrait session, we started with a white background before moving to the black. There’s not hard and fast rule when it comes to choosing backgrounds – you can choose only one background for your shoot or you can choose two. With two backgrounds, we can spend half the time on each or, as we did with this session, a little time with one and the rest on the second background.
Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your family – it would be my pleasure to photograph you all next time you want to create new souvenirs.
When is the perfect time to photograph your family?
There is no better time to photograph your family than now as your children will never be as small as they are now.
When we think about the best time to have our family portraits taken, there always seems to be a reason why we should wait…. until
- The kids are bigger
- They have all their teeth
- The braces come off
- We lose a bit of weight
There seems to be many reasons for not having our family portrait taken now but the problem is that time passes so quickly that, before we know it, our kids are all grown up and we don’t have any souvenirs of the years that have flown by.
So, don’t wait for the “ideal” moment to have your family portrait taken. Contact me today to reserve your portrait session and let me start creating souvenirs for you.
