The Prise de la Bastille is a short but extremely gruelling 2km cycling race with an average gradient of 17%. With sections at 24% and some corners at more than 30% it’s not a race for the faint hearted.
Every year riders strive to make it into the top 50 for the dubious honour of being able to ride the track again in the afternoon to determine the overall winner.
